[Intro – Choir / Clean whisper] Bells in the smoke Blood on the stone I heard the dead Call me their own
[Verse 1 – Clean] The organ roared through fractured glass As blackened banners rose at last Cathedrals bent beneath the sound Of iron wings above the ground
The violins were blades of grief The cellos dragged the world beneath Low horns rolled out like coming war And every gate became a door
[Pre-Chorus – Clean building] No blessing left No throne above No holy law No sacred blood
[Pre-Chorus – Growl layer] Only the choir Only the scar Only the name They gave my dark
[Chorus – Clean + Growl Layer] Saint of the damned Crowned in fire, baptized in ruin Saint of the damned I am the hymn of the unforgiven Raise the drums Raise the brass Let the heavens split in half Saint of the damned I do not kneel I make the fallen rise
[Post-Chorus – Growl] [Growl] Saint Of the damned
[Verse 2 – Clean] Timpani thundered under bone The war drums shook the pillars’ stone Trombones like judgment filled the air And still I climbed, and still I dared
My shadow crossed the altar wide A black eclipse with gold inside The choir burned behind my breath A living rite, a dressed-up death
[Pre-Chorus – Clean] I kissed the ash I broke the seal I touched the dark And made it real
[Pre-Chorus – Growl layer] No saint can save me No god can stand I took damnation And made it grand
[Bridge – Clean / Choir / Growl] [Clean] Grand piano crashing like winter light Violins screaming through the night French horns calling like kings to war And I wanted more I wanted more
[Choir] Sanctus no more Sanctus no more
[Growl] Pipe organ howling Columns break Taikos calling Make them shake Cimbassi roaring Veins ignite I was not made For a gentle light
[Breakdown – Growl] Strike the bells Split the sky Drag the golden idols high Break the vault Flood the nave Wake the fury in the grave Brass and thunder Bone and flame Let the world remember my name
[Orchestral Lift – Clean] Hear the violins ascending Hear the low brass bending fate Hear the choir of the cursed Turn the end into a gate
[Final Chorus – Clean + Huge Growl Layer + Choir] Saint of the damned Crowned in fire, baptized in ruin Saint of the damned I am the hymn of the unforgiven Raise the drums Raise the brass Let the heavens split in half Saint of the damned I do not kneel I make the fallen rise
[Final Lift – Clean / Choir] Saint of the damned Hear the organ, hear the choir Saint of the damned Every wound becomes empire Saint of the damned No forgiveness, only flame Saint of the damned Let all creation learn my name
[Outro – Clean low] Bells in the smoke Blood on the stone I heard the dead Call me their own
Short Story
*A story about staying when everyone else has left*
By the time old Father Anselmo was the last one left at the small mountain chapel, the congregation had dwindled to almost nothing — the young families had moved to the cities, the roads had gotten worse, and the diocese had quietly stopped sending much support at all.
"Why don't you transfer somewhere with an actual congregation?" a visiting bishop once asked him, not unkindly. "There's no shame in it. This parish is, practically speaking, finished."
Father Anselmo considered the question seriously before answering. "There are still four people who come on Sundays. Dona Felismina, who's ninety-three and has outlived everyone she ever loved. The Costa brothers, who haven't spoken to anyone but each other and me in a decade. And young Mariana, who comes alone because her family won't, and needs somewhere that doesn't ask her to explain that."
"Four people is a very small reason to stay."
"Four people is the entire reason to stay," Father Anselmo said. "A church with a thousand people can survive without me easily. A church with four people who have nowhere else to go — that one cannot. I'm not staying because the numbers make sense. I'm staying because the moment I leave, those four people lose the one place that was built to hold whatever they're carrying."
He stayed another eleven years, until his own health finally failed him. The chapel never grew much larger. But Dona Felismina died in that small building's pew, hand in hand with him, having never once been alone in her grief, in a place that never asked her to be anyone other than exactly who she was.
"You could have served thousands of people instead of four," someone said, after.
"I served the four who would have had no one," he said. "I've never believed that math was the measure of where you're needed most. Sometimes the smallest, most abandoned congregation is the one that needed a witness the most desperately — and there's a particular calling in being willing to be that witness, even when no one else can see why it matters."

*Some of the most important work is done for the smallest, most overlooked audience — staying not because it's impressive, but because someone has to be the one who doesn't leave.*
